Silicone Plastique® Weights & Measures
Coverage: 1 pound of Silicone Plastique® will cover an area about 8″ x 8″ x 1/4″ thick.
Volume:
- 1 pound of Silicone Plastique® = 9 fluid oz. = 1-1/8 cups = 1/2 pint
- 1 pound of Silicone Plastique® = 270 millileters = .27 liters
- 1 pound of Silicone Plastique® = 16.32 cubic inches
How to Calculate Quantity Needed:
In inches, take the L” x W” x Thickness of the area you will be covering with the Silicone Plastique®. This will give you the total cubic inches of the Silicone Plastique® layer that you are going to use to make your mold. Then multiply “total cubic inches” by .98 to find the weight in ounces of Silicone Plastique® you will need. Divide this number by 16 to calculate pounds of Silicone Plastique® required.
Example: Let’s say you need to cover an area that is 6″ long by 6″ wide and you want to apply a layer of Silicone Plastique® that is 1/4″ thick.
The calculation is as follows: 6″ x 6″ x 1/4″ = 9 cubic inches x .98 = 8.82 ounces in weight.
